Refreshment Vouchers can include the following, beer, wine or cocktails Kolsch Subtle and delicate, it is light in both body and appearance, its maltiness is subdued and its hoppiness is unobtrusive. Straw-bland and almost larger-like, Kolsch however, does impart some noticeable ale-type fruitiness on the palate. Altbier Alter ego to the Kolsch and traditionally produced only 50 km down the Rhine River from Cologne (the home of Kolsch). This copper-colour ale is conditioned for an extended period to produce a clean-tasting beer with an aromatic hop presence, a firm creamy head, medium body and a dry finish. Hefeweizen A turbid brew, the Hefeweizen has a very characteristic flavour that is produced by the interplay between the specialty yeast and the flavour contributions from the large portion of wheat in the brew’s grain bill. The flavours and aromatics are described as clove, banana, phenolic, sour, spicy and even bubblegum like. Because of the complexity of the yeast flavour, this beer is only mildly hopped. Dunkelweizen Relative to Hefeweizen the Dunkelweizen is a dark version of a German wheat beer. This brew contains the same unique flavour characteristics of the Hefeweizen, but with a rich, mildly vanilla, nutty-sweet palate that is never toasty or acrid. This beer is medium bodied with a large rocky, long-lasting head.
